Your feet hits the ground around 3,000 times for every mile your walk.Keeping your feet healthy and avoiding foot pain starts with making sure your footwear fit.

Shoes that are too small will cause pain and shoes that are too large cause blisters. Also for most people the sizes of the left and right feet are often slightly different.

1. Your footwear should fit comfortably without stretching the upper part of the shoe over the middle of the shoe
2. There should be enough room for your heel to move but it should never be able slip out
3. Try on shoes at the end of the day as your feet expand as they get used through the day
4. The space between the end of your largest toe and the end of the footwear should approx 1 inch

1. Start with a flexibly measure tape
2. Decide whre you want the hat to sit on your head
3. Run the flexible measure tape directly where the headband of the cap will rest on your head

How to Clean a New Era Hat

It is important for your new era cap to always look it’s best and a dirty cap certainly doesn’t make you feel good about yourself if you like to look stylish. Many have tried in vain to clean their New Era caps in the dishwasher or the laundry and then probably found out that this does not work to well. These methods will only ruin your caps. One of the best ways to clean your cap is the recap kit.

The key component is the inflatable head form that should be inflated partially using the pump, then the cap is placed on the head form and it is inflated the rest of the way. A special cleaner is sprayed on the cap after which the brush is used to remove dirt and residue. The head form is then partially deflated to remove the cap and the unique shaper spray is sprayed on the inside of the cap. The cap should then be placed back on the head form and this should be inflated until smooth and the cap should be left to dry.

What to do if you don’t own a recap kit? Do it yourself at home! You will need a toothbrush, even an old one will do, a container or plastic cup or anything you can get rid of afterwards and Oxi Clean stain remover or any other brand of stain removing powder. First you will pour water into the cup and mix it with the stain remover; usually one scoop of Oxi Clean does the trick. Then take the toothbrush and dip it into the mixture completely after which you scrub the dirty areas of the cap. Let the hat dry and you will have a clean, stain-free hat once again! New Eras should never be placed in the washing machine or dishwasher as it loses shape that way.

For the most effective way of cleaning your cap, you will need scissors, masking tape, detergent, stain remover, washcloth, cleaning solution and a cleaning brush. First cut a strip of the tape and wrap it around your fingers so that the sticky side is exposed. Rub the hat with the tape to remove hair and dust. Then use a small amount of the detergent and stain remover along with the washcloth to rub the cap’s headband to remove sweat stains. Rinse the cloth and wipe it over the headband to remove excess detergent. Next, use a special hat cleaning kit and apply the cleaning solution to the brush. Gently rub the cap with the brush to remove grime.

Always remember that if you wet your cap, it will take on the shape it has when drying. If you don’t provide the shape, it will shrink to it’s own smaller shape. Thus if you want it to fit on your head, dry it on your head! Do not put the cap in the dryer! Should your cap shrink when the sweat dries, put it on your knee and give it a yank. You are then breaking the sizing, a plastic strap for size, and your cap will fit again. Happy cleaning!
