Crooks & Castles – Fashion, Celebrity & Ethics
Crooks & Castles was founded in Los Angeles where its founders during the 90’s were influenced by the hip hop / gang culture. The inspiration comes from the environment of gangland LA and the abilities of some who escaped through enterprise and business.
The Concept:
“Crooks”, criminals, pimps, hustlers, thieves, the down and out, etc.
&
“Castles” ultimate in success from houses, cars, jewels etc.
The idea behind the line is aimed at those who stopped at nothing to get their “Castle”.
The C&C designers claim with pride to have taken (stole) the Versace Medusa icon and given it a unique twist. Other famous and more controversial design carry various gun symbols, slogans such as money, clothes and hoes, cocaine and caviar etc. Such graphic slogans and illustrations have called many to
question the ethics behind the brand; however with celebrity endorsements running high plus the fact that they come up with some hot shit.
This controversial brand looks like it is not going anywhere soon. Available at www.j-bees.co.uk
